Clearview, OntarioMay 2026 — The Ontario Physician Recruitment Alliance (OPRA) hosted its 2026 Annual General Meeting in Clearview, bringing together physician recruitment leaders and alliance members from across Ontario for a day of collaboration, strategic planning, and provincial recruitment discussion.

The AGM was held ahead of the Western University Family Medicine Resident Career Fair at Blue Mountain, where OPRA members and community representatives connected with family medicine residents exploring future practice opportunities across Ontario.

The meeting opened with welcoming remarks from Doug Measures, who recognized the importance of coordinated physician recruitment efforts in supporting healthcare access and community sustainability.

“OPRA’s AGM reflected the strength of collaboration across Ontario’s physician recruitment community,” said Jill Croteau. “Recruitment teams across the province are working together in new and meaningful ways -sharing knowledge, coordinating recruitment efforts, and contributing practical insight into broader workforce planning conversations.”

AGM highlights included the presentation of OPRA’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, updates on provincial recruitment activity, discussion of shared workforce intelligence and recruitment infrastructure, governance updates, and planning related to advocacy, partnerships, and long-term sustainability.

During the meeting, OPRA members also discussed the continued development of OPRA Compass, the organization’s evolving provincial workforce intelligence and recruitment platform designed to support physician recruitment coordination, candidate navigation, shared data infrastructure, and recruitment collaboration across Ontario.

As part of this work, OPRA announced that a new provincial physician opportunity job board is currently in development and is expected to launch in the coming months. The platform is intended to help improve visibility of physician opportunities across Ontario communities while supporting more coordinated recruitment efforts province-wide.

The meeting also reflected on OPRA’s continued growth and visibility over the past year, including participation in provincial healthcare discussions, international recruitment initiatives, workforce planning conversations, and collaborative partnerships across Ontario.

OPRA’s current organizational arc reflects its continued evolution:

2024: Foundational
2025: Influence & Visibility
2026: Conversion & Resources
