OPRA is proud to recognize Melanie Delion as the recipient of the inaugural Lori Richey Emerging Leader Award, presented during OPRA’s 2026 Annual General Meeting.
This award honours the late Lori Richey, a founding director of OPRA and a shining star in Ontario’s physician recruitment community. Lori embodied collaboration, innovation, mentorship, and a deep commitment to strengthening communities. She was passionate about her work, her family, and her photography, bringing warmth, creativity, and authenticity to everything she did.
The award was created to carry Lori’s legacy forward by recognizing emerging leaders who reflect those same values.
Melanie’s leadership within OPRA has helped advance provincial collaboration, recruitment innovation, event coordination, marketing, and shared recruitment infrastructure. Known for her creativity, professionalism, and relationship-building, Melanie brings energy, purpose, and heart to complex healthcare workforce challenges.
