ABOUT US
The Eastern Ontario Physician Recruitment Alliance (EOPRA) is the Eastern Ontario regional affiliate of OPRA. It brings together urban and rural, not-for-profit, community- and hospital-based physician recruiters who are committed to attracting and retaining physicians and supporting a sustainable, equitable physician workforce across Ontario.
EOPRA members collaborate to:
- Attract physicians by promoting regional opportunities and the benefits of living and working in Eastern Ontario communities.
- Strengthen physician retention and long-term workforce sustainability.
- Identify and address barriers to physician recruitment, retention, and access to care.
- Advocate regionally and in partnership with OPRA for improvements in health-care delivery and workforce planning.
- Share data, insights, and leading practices to inform strategy, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- Advance learning, training, and knowledge-sharing to improve recruitment effectiveness and efficiency across member communities.
Through this work, EOPRA contributes—alongside other OPRA regional alliances—to a shared provincial mission of strengthening Ontario’s physician workforce and ensuring equitable access to compassionate, high-quality care across all communities.
